Rimmers Music

It is with a tremendous amount of thanks that among a number of thrilling changes being introduced this year, there is one very exciting event that has enhanced the Festival.  We have entered into a partnership with Harker and Howarth (part of the Rimmers Music group), who will be supplying the pianos to all venues for the duration of the Festival, and they will continue to be pianos made by Steinway & Sons. All you musicians out there will know that Steinway & Sons pianos have a reputation that is second to none - quality, style and status.  We are extremely thankful to Harker & Howarth for this generous gesture, and we look forward to working with them for many years to come.

The British and International Federation of Music Festivals

The Alderley Edge Festival is affiliated to The British and International Federation of Festivals of which her Majesty The Queen is Patron. 

• The Association offers support in the following areas:
• Answers queries from members and general public.
• Provides a Year Book with details of all 300+ member festivals including dates, classes and a local contact in each case
• Offers advice and help, recommended rates and terms for adjudicators
• Can supply blanket agreements on insurance, copyright, performing rights and public liability requirements
• Has links with courses via University of Leeds and Trinity/Guildhall, London
• Has a recruitment and Induction scheme for the accreditation of new adjudicators
• Gives local help for new festivals (through Federation Area Councils).
• Holds Regional meetings
• Holds an annual national conference
• Raises the profile of the Amateur Festival Movement locally and nationally
• Gives encouraging financial support for individual festivals and the movement at large.
•  Promotes the amateur performing arts across the three disciplines of Music, Dance and Speech

South-Side Speech and Drama School

South-Side Speech & Drama School has been providing high quality performing arts education for over 14 years! Graded examinations in speech, drama, and communication now give points on the UCAS tariff for university entrance. Students passing Grades 6-8 in Speech and Drama, will be entitled to additional UCAS points. Depending on the level of the pass, students are able to be awarded up to a massive 160 UCAS points.
